Registered Nurse – Maryland (Hagerstown)

Job Type

• Temporary contract to hire
• Onsite position
• Contract length: 20 weeks
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
• Rotating on-call schedule every third weekend
• 40 hours guaranteed per week

Job Description

• Provide nursing support for well, chronic, or acutely ill individuals in a community or small facility setting
• Assess health status, implement care plans, and ensure health maintenance and disease prevention
• Case management responsibilities
• Supervise care plans and staff members, including licensed practical/vocational nurses and unlicensed staff
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate programs and services
• Coordinate communication and actions across disciplines related to health and safety supports
• Manage medication processes: ordering, reviewing, monitoring, discontinuation, disposal, and ensure policies on medication administration and errors are in place and reviewed annually
• Report client condition changes to physicians and transcribe physician phone orders and medical reports
• Complete required nursing documentation (daily, monthly, quarterly, annual)
• Maintain furnishings, equipment, and supplies to prevent disease spread
• Schedule and follow up on health-related appointments and communicate with inpatient nursing and discharge coordinators when clients are hospitalized
• Provide new employee training and annual recertification on health and safety topics
• Train unlicensed staff on person-specific health maintenance, safety, and disease prevention needs

Required Skills and Experience

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Home Health nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Experience with PICC lines
• Experience with OASIS documentation

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Maryland nursing license or compact nursing license for Registered Nurse

Additional Information

• Productivity requirement: 30 points per week
• Mileage reimbursement provided for travel within Washington County
