Job Opportunity: Sonographer - Echocardiography

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Perform cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures and acquire echocardiographic and/or vascular data to provide high-quality care. Provide education and training in ultrasound procedures for fellows, interns, and other staff to support the community and ensure high-quality educational experiences.

Required Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree OR equivalent combination of education/experience from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program performing all types of cardiac ultrasound in a healthcare environment (1 year of education equals 1 year of experience).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound experience in a healthcare environment.
• Associate's degree from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program performing all types of cardiac ultrasound in a healthcare environment.
• Ability to think deductively and make clinical decisions accordingly.
• Experience with ultrasound equipment, including transesophageal transducers, and digital echo storage systems.
• Knowledge of cardiovascular and vascular circulatory system principles, including physics and blood flow hemodynamics.
• Registered in cardiac ultrasound or registry eligible.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of solid cardiac sonographer experience preferred (2 years considered if experience is at an academic teaching hospital).

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Cardiac ultrasound registry preferred.

Additional Notes

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
