Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Traveler - Backfill)
Location: Lincoln, Nebraska

Job Summary
The CT Technologist performs computed tomography (CT) procedures under physician supervision, using CT technology to assist in diagnosing medical conditions across all patient age groups. The role involves performing diagnostic and interventional CT studies, practicing radiation safety, and ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all types of CT studies, including diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Practice radiation safety for patients, staff, and self
- Use sterile techniques as required
- Position patients properly and select appropriate technical factors for optimal imaging
- Perform venipuncture
- Operate CT equipment and support systems (HIS, RIS, PACS, teleradiography)
- Evaluate images for technical quality
- Review patient history and document studies accurately
- Coordinate exams within and across departments
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and families
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment
- Assist with departmental orientation and student clinical education
- Administer drugs and biologicals as per medical center procedures
- Maintain patient confidentiality and practice proper body mechanics
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology
- Current certification or eligibility for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Certification in CT required within 24 months of hire
- Valid Nebraska Medical Radiographer License
- Minimum of 2 years hospital CT experience (highest required experience)
- ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications required
- BLS certification (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network)
- Experience with GE CT equipment required
- Ability to work effectively under stress and emergent situations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to prioritize work and work independently
- Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Contract Length
- Approximately 13 weeks
