Job Opportunity: Nursing Supervisor (Med Surg)

Location: Soldotna, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Represent hospital administration and supervise all hospital departments.
• Serve as a resource for all department personnel.
• Oversee staffing, patient safety, and communication with medical staff and administration.
• Lead and deploy staffing resources during emergent situations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and adequate inventory control.
• Respond to patient rapid response and complaint issues.

Unit Information

• Med Surg and ICU oversight.
• 49-bed hospital.
• Night shift required.
• Use of computerized charting and medication systems (e.g., EPIC).
• Dress code: Scrubs.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of Nursing experience in Acute Care.

Licenses & Certifications

• Alaska RN License required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Night shift.
• May require working alone and weekend shifts.
• Supervision by House Supervisor and Chief Nursing Officer.

Additional Notes

• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred.
