Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Mental Health Unit

Location: Juneau, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Assessment and medication management of patients
Crisis management and de-escalation
Electronic charting (EMR - Meditech)
Occasional restraint/seclusion
Equipment used: Omnicell, EMR - Meditech
No floating to other units/departments
Shift schedule may include one twelve-hour shift and four six-hour shifts
Work schedule may include weekends and evenings; employee will not work alone
Nurse to patient ratio: 6:1 (day shift), 12:1 (night shift)
Unit size: 12 single rooms
Dress code: Scrubs/business casual

Required Qualifications

Active Alaska RN License
2 years of experience in inpatient mental health nursing
BERT (Behavioral Emergency Response Team) certification or similar

Additional Information

Standard hospital orientation and unit-specific training provided
Innovative scheduling may be required
