Job Opportunity: OR (Main) - RN

Location: Carroll, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room (OR) with a focus on a variety of surgical cases including orthopedic, general, ENT, endoscopy, cardiac, urology, and pediatric surgeries.

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience, including all cases mentioned (e.g., total joints, hernias, gallbladders, pacemaker, c-section, exploratory laparotomy, cataracts, urology, ENT, pediatrics)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not a first-time traveler; prior travel experience required
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • PALS preferred

Work Environment & Schedule

• Unit: Operating Room with 5 OR suites, 1 OB/OR, 1 Endoscopy suite
• Cases per Day: Approximately 12
• Shifts: Monday - Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM (normal business hours)
• Call Requirements:

  • Minimum one weeknight per week (3:15 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • One weekend per month (Friday 3:15 PM - Monday 7:00 AM)
  • Minimum one holiday on call
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
• Scheduling: No self-scheduling
• Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs

Additional Information

• Orientation includes at least a half-day unit tour and case-specific training as needed
• Team culture is highly collaborative with long-tenured staff; candidates should support a positive, team-oriented environment
• No local RV hookups available for winter
• EMR system used: Meditech
• Scrubbing is not required for this role
