Registered Nurse — Tele Intermediate

Location

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Nights
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Negative drug screen required for submission

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• Travelers are expected to float
• No call requirement

Unit Details

• Tele Intermediate unit
• 26 beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 or 1:5
• Floating assignments use the same ratio as the assigned unit
• Central telemetry monitoring is used
• No vents
• Bipap, CPap, and HF/Vapotherm are used
• Charge nurse takes patients
• Nurse aides/techs support the unit at a 1:9 ratio

Clinical Environment

• Common patient types include CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
• RT is available 24/7
• Pharmacy support is available 24/7
• Nursing does not mix medications
• Hospitalist coverage is in house during the day, with APN coverage overnight

Orientation

• 12 hours of non-billable orientation
• 1 hospital orientation shift
• 2 unit orientation shifts, including one day shift and one night shift

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted
• No scrub color is required; personal scrubs may be worn
• Drug-free campus policy applies
