Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45–7:15)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Position requires working on a Medical Surgical unit.
- Schedule is determined at the discretion of the unit manager.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
- Minimum of 3 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Prior travel nursing experience.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Copy of valid Driver’s License or State ID.
- Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date, updated annually.
- Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask) including mask size.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual renewal required.
- 12-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start.
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption documentation.
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption documentation.
- Signed System Access and Confidentiality Agreement prior to start.
- Completion of Healthstream courses during orientation, including glucose testing demonstration if applicable.
- Two professional references required.

- Candidates must submit all Return to Office (RTO) documentation with profile submittal.
- Some certifications and requirements may vary by specific unit or department; verify based on assignment.
- Flu vaccination is not mandatory for employment but may be required per Aya standards.
