Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Infusion Registered Nurse
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Description
- Float between multiple outpatient infusion clinics.
- Provide care to adult and geriatric oncology patients receiving treatment requiring symptom management.
- Work schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
- No call and no weekend shifts.
- Patient rooms: 3 rooms.
- Documentation system: EPIC (required).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum 3 years of infusion nursing experience, including infusion experience within the last year.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience working in outpatient and clinic settings.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
Certifications & Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required prior to start).
- Unit-specific competency exams required.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%).
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG monitoring required.
- Education accreditation verification for nursing degree from an accredited program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA).
- Fingerprinting: Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, with specific code 3701.881. New fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days or results are older than 1 year.
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
- License verification within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS verification for RN license.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease.
- Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required; exemptions not allowed for those working with infants or pregnant patients.
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive. TB questionnaire required annually in lieu of TB test.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if low titer and no vaccine proof.
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series; signed declination acceptable.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; medical exemptions require documentation.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); decliners must wear a mask.
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start; new travelers cannot start with pending drug screen.
- COVID-19 vaccination: Not required but strongly recommended; proof of primary vaccination collected if available.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager/director or formal leadership.
- Employment application required, including education details.
- Skills checklist required.
- Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies.
- Completion of fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Review and sign ethics and compliance policies annually.
- Confidential fraud, waste, and abuse reporting form required.

- Candidates must be able to complete Ohio fingerprinting either in-state or via approved out-of-state procedures.
- Background check and fingerprinting results must be clear; any hits require additional documentation and adjudication.
- Facility uses EPIC for documentation; proficiency required.
- Floating between clinics requires flexibility and adaptability.
