Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER/Med Surg

Location: Arlington, Minnesota

Job Description

• Position requires primary Emergency Department (ED) experience; will also work Med/Surg with ED.
• Critical Access facility setting.
• Shift: Primarily night shifts, 12-hour shifts (day/night).
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Charge nurse experience required.
• First-time travelers not accepted; experienced travel nurses only.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including ED experience within the last year
• Med/Surg experience
• Experience in charge nurse roles
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Licensure

• Must provide proof of active RN license at time of submission.
• Pending licenses are not accepted.
• Must comply with Minnesota state licensing and fingerprinting requirements.

Additional Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination required (with medical/religious exemptions subject to approval).
• Must complete Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint process prior to start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
• Drug screening (9 panel) within 1 year.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• Must complete required background checks and submit government-issued photo ID.
• Must complete emergency contact form prior to start.
• Must complete facility-specific orientation materials prior to start.
• References: 2 professional references for travel or acute care experience required.

Work Conditions & Notes

• Critical Access hospital environment.
• Charge nurse responsibilities expected.
• No local candidates accepted; must be a travel nurse.
• Time off (RTO) restrictions: Only approved at time of submission; max 1 week of RTO allowed.
• Any call-outs require more than 24 hours’ notice.
• No on-call requirement.
• Block scheduling and floating between units not applicable.

This position is ideal for an experienced ER Registered Nurse with strong Med/Surg skills, who is comfortable working in a critical access hospital setting and has prior travel nursing experience.
