Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job in Columbus, Ohio

Job Details

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Floating: Required to float to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and medical-surgical units as needed. Must comply with float expectations and will be assigned appropriately.

Required Experience

  • Preferred close to 2 years of nursing experience.
  • 2 supervisory references required; at least one must be from a supervisor or manager.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Licensure

  • Ohio State RN license or Compact RN license required.

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA certification only.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certification only.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA certification only.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for NICU nurses.
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required as applicable.
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – Required as applicable.

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including a 7-year county search and education verification.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
  • Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start and must be updated for each new contract.
  • Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
  • Sex offender, nurse aide, inmate, Medicaid exemption, and abuse registry searches required within 30 days of start.
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start.
  • Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
  • Affiliating Health Record and Infection Control Policy acknowledgment required.
  • Fit Mask (N95) testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required to be renewed annually).
  • TB testing or IGRA within 12 months; additional requirements if positive.
  • Immunizations and titers required for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (declination or proof of vaccination/titer accepted)
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval.

Additional Requirements

  • Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
  • Resume or employment application required.
  • Must be willing to comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Minimum of 2 years of CVPICU experience
  • CVPICU experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

This position requires a flexible nurse willing to work in multiple pediatric and critical care areas with appropriate licensure, certifications, and compliance documentation.
