Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
  • At least one completed travel assignment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Robotics surgery
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Neurosurgical (Neuro) surgery
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Plastic surgery
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Orthopedic surgery
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements and Compliance

  • Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, including social security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, federal exclusions, and others. Must be updated annually.
  • Employment verification and eligibility checks required within 30 days of start.
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start, including a comprehensive panel of substances.
  • Immunizations and health documentation required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (recent testing required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (with accepted exemptions and declinations)
  • Physical exam documentation recommended within 12 months of start.
  • Annual competency exams required, including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and core competency parts I-III.
  • Compliance with employee appearance policy and other facility-specific policies.
