Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Melbourne, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• EPIC experience required
• No on-call required
• Opportunity to float to other units/locations within the region
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period (schedule TBD by unit needs)
• Patient ratios: 1:2-3
• Must be available to work holidays as needed
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, must be renewed annually
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including social security trace, education verification, sex offender, and nationwide checks
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting mandatory if no prior clearance)
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (valid for 5 years once on file)
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (specific mask types required; must be fully shaven)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (or two negative PPDs with specific timing)
• Required immunizations with quantitative titers within 5 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests)
• Completion of facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgement, confidentiality agreement, values, and badge form
• Current employment application or resume dated within 90 days of start

Work Environment & Notes

• Guaranteed contracted hours
• Locals accepted at same rate as travelers
• Floating may include multiple nearby locations
• Strict policies on flu vaccine exemptions and fingerprinting clearance
• Must comply with all background, health, and competency requirements prior to start

This position is ideal for ICU Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience, who are comfortable with floating and weekend shifts, and who meet all licensure and certification requirements for Florida.
