Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR) - Travel/Contract

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Work in a Tier 1 multiple specialty environment focusing on cardiac and transplant cases.
  • Strongest specialties include Cardiac (ECMO), kidney and liver transplant, Endovascular, laparoscopic cases, and trauma.
  • Schedule: Day/Evening shifts every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; 12-hour shifts (06:40 - 19:10). No on-call required.
  • Floating required: may be assigned to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Wisconsin nursing license or compact license from permanent address state.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association only.
  • ACLS certification may be required depending on unit.
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP) may be required based on unit description.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid RN license in Wisconsin
  • CVOR experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
  • Acute care experience
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days prior to start, including nationwide and local searches.
  • Education verification as applicable.
  • State-specific caregiver screening (Wisconsin BID form) required within 90 days of start.
  • Drug screening per Vaya standard.
  • Various health documents including:
    • Physical exam (within 1 year)
    • Immunizations and titers for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB testing, Flu vaccination or approved exemption, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Meningococcal vaccine or declination.
  • Facility-specific testing: Adult and Pediatric Telemetry exams with strict passing criteria and remediation process.
  • Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
  • Signed acknowledgments for safety manuals and pass/fail testing.

Additional Notes

  • This is a Magnet®-designated hospital and ranked as Wisconsin’s #1 hospital.
  • No prior travel experience is explicitly required.
  • Floating to different units may be necessary to complete the contract.
  • Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available.
