Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (CRT NICU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Charleston, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Discipline / Specialty: Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM), weekdays, some weekends, with float responsibilities
• Work Settings: PICU, ER, Critical Care, General Care, Adults and/or Pediatrics
• Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Orientation: Every other Tuesday; 2-day orientation (Thursday and Friday)
• Guaranteed Hours: 72-80 hours per pay period
• Local Radius Rule: Facility considers candidates within 75-100 miles
• Pending State License: Accepted

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in West Virginia
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• Experience working with Adult patients
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Experience in an Inpatient setting
• Experience in an Acute Care setting

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to work independently at times with minimal night staff (only 2 therapists on night shift)
• Manager strongly prefers candidates with PICU and ER experience
• Block scheduling is open to accommodation but not guaranteed
• Return to work (RTO) requests must be submitted two weeks prior and approved by management
• Various facility-specific documents and training modules must be completed prior to start, including blood administration policy review, dress code policy, math calculation review, EKG review (for ICU/ER/Stepdown), and inservice training with pass/fail testing for certain specialties

This position is suitable for Respiratory Therapists with at least 1 year of experience, who are comfortable working night shifts in critical care settings including PICU and ER, and who meet the required certifications and licensure. Prior travel experience is not required.
