Travel/Contract Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse for a travel/contract position with an ASAP start. The schedule is primarily 7 AM to 3 PM with some 3 PM to 11 PM shifts as needed, working a 5x8 schedule. The position requires working every other weekend and every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Schedule

• Primarily 7 AM - 3 PM shifts
• Some 3 PM - 11 PM shifts as needed
• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release (updated annually)
• 7-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start (annual update required)
• Education Verification (highest completed education)
• Various background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search (for subcontractors)
• State License Verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification within 30 days prior to start
• Physical Exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
• Drug Testing within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
• Immunizations or Declinations (as applicable):

  • COVID-19 (most recent vaccination or declination)
  • Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B
• TB Testing: Two PPDs or equivalent testing, plus TB Questionnaire
• Medication and Telemetry Exams (pass/fail testing required for all RNs)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA only)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or completion of equivalent module may be required
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC)

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within the last 3 years
• Employment application covering 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist prior to start and updated annually

Notes

• Candidates must pass medication and telemetry exams with a minimum score of 80% on the first day of orientation to avoid cancellation.
• Declinations for certain vaccines are not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU units.
• Background checks and compliance attestations must be completed and uploaded as required.

This position is ideal for a Behavioral Health RN with at least 1 year of psych experience looking for a travel contract in Massachusetts with a structured weekday schedule and some weekend/holiday coverage.
