  • Rotating holiday call required
  • Weekend call shifts required (12-hour shifts once or twice per month)
  • Night calls 1–2 times per week (10 PM to 7 AM, Monday through Friday)
  • Weekend requirement: Yes
  • Float requirement: No
• Patient Population: May take pediatric patients

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Must meet all background check and verification requirements (including but not limited to social security trace, sex offender check, federal exclusions, etc.)
• Must pass competency exams (medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, core competencies) within 12 months and maintain annual updates
• Compliance with hospital-specific policies and appearance standards

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper documentation)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol (including two-step skin test or equivalent)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity via 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination (signed within 12 months)
• Varicella immunity via 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with exemptions and declinations accepted under policy
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (comprehensive panel including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, etc.)

Additional Information

• Scrubs provided by hospital
• Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification may be required depending on unit assignment (not specified for PACU)
