Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Float position within MS/Telemetry unit
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours (0700-1930)
• Every other weekend required
• Float assignments required within skillset/acuity
• Community hospital experience required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)

Certifications & Exams

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:

  • Minimum overall score of 80%
  • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required if working in ED or Pediatrics
• Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification for MS/Tele and ICU)

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher within 3 years)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual update required)
• Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)

Licensure & Background

• Valid state nursing license required prior to start
• Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• Education verification required
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
• Employment history verification with at least 2 years experience in the past 7 years
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience in the last 3 years

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
• Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
• Documentation of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate
• Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules required prior to start
• Annual acknowledgment of safety manual required

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with prior travel assignments who are comfortable floating within MS/Telemetry and community hospital settings, and who meet the certification and competency requirements listed above.
