Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Outpatient
Location: Murrieta, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Job Description
- Provide occupational therapy services focused on pediatric patients with varied developmental conditions such as Autism, sensory challenges, fine motor delay, and regulation issues.
- Experience with feeding/eating therapy preferred but not required.
- Work schedule: Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM (off Mondays).
- No on-call requirements; may call off based on patient volume.
- Guaranteed hours after call-off policy is met.
- Maximum of 6 days Return to Office (RTO) restrictions.
Requirements
- Specialty: Occupational Therapy (Pediatric Outpatient)
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
- Licenses & Certifications:
- California OT License or eligible to obtain (processing takes 6-8 weeks if licensed in another state)
- NBCOT Certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA accepted
- Pediatric outpatient experience required
- Children’s hospital experience preferred but not mandatory
Facility & Work Environment
- Pediatric specialty hospital recognized nationally for excellence
- Use of Epic electronic health record system
- Scrub color: Any
- Free parking for travelers
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid photo ID (front and back) required on first day
- Background checks including criminal, education verification, and federal exclusions within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health without restrictions
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B series or titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination (required during flu season)
- Negative 9-panel drug test (non-THC) within 30 days of start
- Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year of start (clinical roles)
- Required competency exams and medication tests with minimum passing scores
- References: 2 supervisory references verified within 1 year of start from clinical leadership (director, supervisor, or manager)
Additional Notes
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be completed prior to start, including confidentiality agreements, code of conduct, HIPAA forms, and professional accountability expectations.
- Badge photo required (recent, plain background, JPEG format).
- Candidates must comply with all facility policies and training requirements.
