Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider or AHA RQI only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider or AHA RQI only
• NIH Stroke Certification (preferred but not required)

Required Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois
• Primary source verification of state license must be completed within 30 days of assignment start
• NURSYS verification required within 30 days of assignment start

Prior Travel Experience

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Driver’s License or State ID
• Background checks including 7-year history, aliases, and multiple federal/state databases
• Education verification (ADN or BSN required)
• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (specific approved masks required)
• Immunizations and titers (must be completed within 2 business days of contract signing):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 30 days of start
• Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation or approved medical/religious exemption (flu season runs 10/1 to 3/31)
• Fingerprinting and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) registry for candidates without an Illinois state license
• References: 2 required
• Employment application including 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist updated annually for assigned and float units
• Work history verification for 7 years

Additional Notes

• COVID-19 and Influenza vaccine religious and medical exemption forms are available but require facility approval and must be submitted at least one week prior to documentation due date.
• Orientation modules must be completed prior to start (approximately 2 hours).
• Candidates must be prepared to float to other units as needed.

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 1 year of medical-surgical experience who are comfortable with a 1:6 patient ratio, weekend rotations every other weekend, and floating responsibilities. The facility uses Epic for charting and requires up-to-date certifications and immunizations.
