Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Licensure: Must have a Pennsylvania or compact nursing license in hand
• Schedule: Must be willing to rotate schedules as needed
• Patient Ratios:

  • Day shifts: 1 nurse to 5 patients
  • Day shifts with LPN: 1 nurse to 7 patients
  • Night shifts: 1 nurse to 6 patients
  • Night shifts with LPN: 1 nurse to 8 patients
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (First timers are welcome)

Certifications & Competencies

• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – as required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – as required
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs, must be renewed annually)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care Units; annual certification required
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM) – required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care Units; annual certification required
• Competency Exams: Medication Test/Pharmacology and other competency exams as applicable, must meet passing scores

Background & Verification Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, including multiple specific searches (SS Trace, County, Nationwide, Sex Offender, PA Statewide)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or 3rd party verifications accepted)
• NURSYS verification required for RN licensure
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) within 1 year of start
• Pennsylvania FBI Fingerprinting required within 12 months of start (must be completed in PA)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months of start or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Vaccinations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within past 10 years)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test within 30 days of start (not required for this location)

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport style, no filters)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of facility-specific quizzes (e.g., Bloodborne Pathogen Quiz) prior to start
• Two professional references within 3 years of hire
• Annual skills checklist required

This position offers an opportunity for nurses with at least 1 year of experience to work in a medical-surgical/telemetry unit with flexible scheduling and supportive ratios. Prior travel experience is not required, making it suitable for first-time travel nurses.
