Job Opportunity: Echo Tech Cardiac Sonographer Pediatrics

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year pediatric experience
• Adult/Pediatric Echo Certification required
• Vascular Certification preferred
• Higher years of experience requirement: 1 year pediatric experience

Work Schedule & Duties

• Night/Weekend call rotation required (on-call)
• Weekends required (call only)
• No floating between units
• Approximate workload: 5 exams per day

Certifications Required

• Adult/Pediatric Echo Certification (required)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• Other certifications may be required based on clinical track and unit (e.g., Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification)

Licenses & Verifications

• State professional license as applicable
• NURSYS verification for RNs
• Tech Certification verification (national)
• Background checks and education verifications required

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 12 months)
  • MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine or declination (seasonal)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates

Additional Requirements

• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
• Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
• Color blind testing may be required on a unit basis
• Competency exams as applicable by specialty
