Job Opportunity: PTA Home Health (Therapy/Rehabilitation)
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Home Health
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- State License: South Carolina PTA license required and must be obtained prior to starting
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Required (AHA or RQI acceptable)
- Experience: Must have Home Health experience
- Local Radius Rule: Locals accepted within 75 miles
- Attendance Policy: More than two missed shifts without reasonable explanation during the 13-week contract may lead to contract review and possible cancellation
Required Certifications & Licenses
- South Carolina PTA License (must be active before start)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required for all candidates
- Other certifications (if applicable to role/unit): ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, etc. (check specific unit requirements)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement - Required
- State License Verification - Primary source verification required
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- South Carolina statewide search required regardless of residence history
- Education verification required (highest level of education must be associate’s degree or higher; certificates alone are not sufficient)
- Employment application required
- Drug testing within 60 days of start (10 panel + Oxycodone + Marijuana)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask (N95) within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or approved exemptions for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
- COVID-19 Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (headshot on plain background)
- References: 2 references within 1 year of start (Qualivis requirement)
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually
Notes
- Pending state license accepted but must be obtained prior to starting
- All Return to Office (RTO) requests must be included in the initial submission; late requests will not be considered
- Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
- Facility has an attendance policy specific to travelers
