Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
  • 1st time travelers accepted
  • Prior travel experience: Not required

Patient Population

  • Adults to Geriatrics

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Clinical Skills & Work Setting

  • Post MI, Heart failure, Arrhythmias, Chest pain, Peripheral Vascular Disease
  • Peritoneal Dialysis
  • Telemetry, EKG, Doppler

Unit Details

  • Nurse to patient ratio: 1:5
  • 16 beds with average daily census of 16
  • Unit systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue

Scheduling & Work Conditions

  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Weekends: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
  • Floating: Yes, to other Cardiac Telemetry Units or other units as needed
  • Call: None
  • Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (see details below)

  • New Year’s Eve and Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve and Day

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)

Required Documents & Verifications

  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID (Photo ID required)
  • Background Check (including education verification) completed prior to start
  • Education Verification (degree related to specialty)
  • State License verification (Georgia RN license required)
  • Annual NURSYS verification
  • Physical Exam (within 1 year of start)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles) - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Mumps - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Rubella - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (results must be available before start)
  • Flu Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season)

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required)
  • Color Blind Testing (required)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry and related units)
  • General Competency Exam (required)

Additional Notes

  • Candidate will undergo a clinical screen to determine fit before final approval
  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Floating to other units as needed
  • Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
