BMT Oncology RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Saint Louis, Missouri
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 13-week contract
• Unit has 32 beds/rooms
• Average daily census: 30
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1 for all shifts
• Floating is required throughout the Oncology department as needed, and the role will float to the unit with the greatest need per shift
• Will not always be working specifically on the 9800 unit
• Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Oncology (1 year of experience)
• Oncology experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ONS/ONCC
• Must pass Relias EKG exam; interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required
• Chemo cert required
• Required skills:

  • Chemotherapy administration
  • Accessing and managing ports
  • Administration of blood and blood products
  • Central line blood draw
  • Central line/implanted line care
  • PICC line care
  • Starting and maintaining IVs
  • Antibiotics
  • Antiemetics
  • Foley catheter insertion/management
  • Isolation Precautions
  • Telemetry Interpretation
  • Telemetry monitoring
• Will accept first time travelers
