Registered Nurse — MS/Tele

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• 36- or 48-hour shifts accepted
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Self-scheduling
• Ratios: 1:6
• Every other weekend required
• May be required to float to the main campus
• Must be able to work holidays

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Charge experience preferred
• ACLS
• Telemetry experience
• Previous charge experience
• Community hospital experience

Key Clinical Skills

• Med/Surg and MS/Tele care
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Rapid response/code team support
• IV therapy, central line blood draws, PICC management, and phlebotomy
• Blood product administration
• Heparin, insulin, and PCA management
• Feeding tube care
• Colostomy/ileostomy care
• Pre/post hemodialysis management
• Chest tube management
• BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Oxygen administration and oral suctioning
• Isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac

Schedule and Assignment Notes

• 7 days maximum RTO per contract
• No call requirement
• No block schedules unless it is a weekend block
• Contract staff may be assigned to storm, hurricane, mass casualty, or disaster response coverage

Unit Details

• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: navy blue or white
• Medication/documentation system: Pyxis

Patient Population

• Adult medical-surgical/telemetry patients, including diabetes, dementia, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, hip fracture, CHF, UTI, renal failure, hypertension, cellulitis, and surgical recovery cases
