Job Opportunity: RN NICU (Level 3)

Job Description

• Work in a Level 3 NICU caring for neonates as young as 23 weeks gestation.
• Facility serves as a transfer center for 9 counties with a nursing transport team.
• Must be NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certified. STABLE certification preferred.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC.

Required Certifications and Licenses

• NRP Certification: Required before start (NRP or STABLE accepted).
• BLS Certification: AHA (American Heart Association) only, required before start.
• State Nursing License: Verification required within 30 days prior to start.
• Driver’s License or State ID: Valid, current, and unexpired.

Required Professional Credentials and Documentation

• Completed skills checklist specific to the NICU unit, updated annually.
• Core Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher).
• Resume covering all employment and gaps for the last 7 years, including education history.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Optional, but proof or declination must be uploaded.
• MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; must provide documentation.
• Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; documentation needed.
• Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or facility-specific declination form required.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required annually or facility-specific declination form (mask required if declined).
• Tdap: Preferred but not required; if no record, declination form required.
• TB Test: Annual requirement; acceptable tests include 2 skin PPDs (one within 12 months, one within 3 months) or 1 Quantiferon/Spot test within 12 months. Past positives require chest x-ray within 12 months.
• Fit Test: Annual requirement; must be completed prior to start with approved mask models. Facility will provide fit testing if needed.
• Physical/Health Statement: Must be from within the last 12 months, including vitals and eye chart, with no restrictions.

Drug Screening and Background Checks

• 9+ panel drug screen required before start.
• Comprehensive background checks including county and national criminal searches, FACIS 3 check, and address trace reports within the last 7 years.

Experience Requirements

• Must be an experienced RN in NICU (Level 3).
• NRP certification mandatory.
