Job Opportunity: CVICU RN - Travel Assignment

Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Requires 2+ years of Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience.
  • Experience with fresh heart transplant patients is required.
  • Patient ratio: 1:2.
  • Schedule: 36/48 hours.
  • Must have experience with Meditech EMR.
  • Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
  • Start date is the date needed on the job.
  • RN must reside within 100 miles of the facility to be considered.
  • A valid driver's license is required for submission.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must have a Kentucky RN license or a compact RN license valid in Kentucky.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • NIH Certification (specific to nursing specialties)
  • Must meet all state and facility-specific license verification requirements.
  • Must provide proof of required immunizations and health screenings, including but not limited to:
    • COVID-19 vaccine (with exemptions accepted upon proper documentation)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or titer
    • Tdap vaccination
    • Influenza vaccine (seasonal requirement)
    • TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start
  • Annual physical or health statement signed by a licensed provider, stating the candidate is clear to work without restrictions.
  • Must complete required background checks, drug screening, and professional references.
  • Completion of facility-specific competencies and exams (e.g., EKG, telemetry) within one year prior to start.
  • Submission packet must include all required documents combined into one PDF (cover sheet, resume, skills checklist, driver's license, license/certification verification).

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
  • Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of accepting the offer.
  • Candidates should not be submitted to more than one job at a time.
  • Compliance with all facility onboarding and credentialing requirements is mandatory.
