Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)

Job Description

Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department setting.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in the Emergency Department (ED), with at least some experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists demonstrating competency in Emergency Nursing, including:
    • Specialty exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
    • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, updated every 3 years
    • EKG exam with passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years
  • Health and immunization requirements:
    • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
    • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines; no declinations accepted
    • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
    • Influenza vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA testing, chest x-ray if positive, annual TB questionnaire
    • Fit test for respiratory protection, updated annually
    • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
  • Drug screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Background and verification checks:
    • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
    • Employment and education verifications within 90 days prior to start and updated annually
  • Professional documentation:
    • Resume/Profile submission required
    • At least two professional references required
    • Driver’s license or state ID (valid, matching address requirements)
  • Onboarding training and attestations including:
    • Assignment agreement signed prior to or at onboarding
    • Completion of onboarding education modules and attestations
    • Completion of unit-specific checklists (optional)
    • Badge photo submission (headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
  • All certifications must be current and from recognized organizations (e.g., American Heart Association).
