Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technician
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Job Description
- Work hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Call schedule: Approximately 2 weekdays per week, every 3rd weekend (3 call days that week)
- Holidays: Rotating schedule with current staff
- Responsibilities may include floating onsite within skill set or to nearby sites within 40 miles if needed
- Requires at least 1 year of hospital experience with GE systems and EPIC
- Prior travel experience is required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Wisconsin
- Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year, with a minimum of 1 year of hospital experience
- One year or more of total travel experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ARRT certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Experience with GE Healthcare systems
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Candidates must complete and maintain the following:
Certifications & Licenses
- Current professional license verification (within 30 days prior to start)
- BLS (AHA)
- ARRT (optional but preferred)
Health & Immunizations
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive immunity titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA testing, with annual TB questionnaire; if positive, chest X-ray required
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be completed onsite)
Background & Verification
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment start
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
- Professional references (minimum two)
Skills & Competency
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, with minimum passing score
- Specialty exam demonstrating competency in Interventional Radiology Technician role (minimum 80% passing score)
- Annual skills checklist and ongoing competency updates
Additional Requirements
- Driver’s license or state ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background)
- Color vision test prior to start and updated every 3 years
