Job Opportunity: Central Sterile Technician

Location: Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Certification:

  • CST Certification (NBSTA or NCCT only) required for Massachusetts locations
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST or NBSTSA CST) required

• Experience:

  • Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard for Central Sterile Technician role

• Licensure:

  • Must hold the appropriate CST certification/license as required for the position in Massachusetts
  • MA Conditional Licenses are not accepted

• Health Requirements:

  • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 – April 30), no exemptions allowed
  • TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
  • Physician health statement within 1 year of start date
  • Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred (3 doses or proof of immunity)
  • Tdap vaccine preferred within last 10 years
  • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit testing is required

• Background Checks and Compliance:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually
  • Social Security Number trace as part of background check
  • Education verification of highest level achieved (except CNA)

• Documentation Required for Submission:

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset)
  • Skills checklist
  • Candidate submission coversheet

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• All required documentation must be current and updated if there is a break in service longer than 6 months.
• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for flu vaccine during flu season.
• TB positive individuals must provide a negative chest x-ray dated after the positive test.
