Job Opportunity: Central Sterile Technician

Location: Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Description

• Perform duties as a Central Sterile Technician, ensuring proper sterilization and preparation of medical instruments and equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, with experience within the last year.
• Certification as a CST, NBSTA, NCCT, CRCST, or NBSTSA.
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start and updated if there is a break longer than 6 months.
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start and updated if break exceeds 6 months.
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually.
• Verification of highest level of education through background check.
• Two references within the last 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher.
• Completion of a skills checklist within 1 year of submission.
• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state for all work and education.
• Confirmation of assignment/POI form required for all initial assignments and extensions.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine, or two MMR vaccines; or proof of immunity via blood test.
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON TB test within 3 months of start date; updated if break >6 months.
• Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date; updated if break >6 months.
• Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred but optional; record of 3 vaccines or proof of immunity or declination.
• Tdap: Preferred; vaccine within 10 years and updated upon expiration.
• Positive PPD: If positive TB test, documentation of a negative chest x-ray after the positive test is required.

Additional Notes

• Must comply with all credential verifications and background checks prior to onboarding.
• Conditional licenses are not accepted in Massachusetts.
• Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
