Job Opportunity: Central Sterile Technician

Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 5 weeks
Shift: Days, 06:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Schedule: 5 days a week, with one day a week and one weekend a month on call required


Job Description

The Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Technician is responsible for the pickup, assembly, processing, storage, and distribution of reprocessed and disposable items and equipment. The role operates within established organizational and departmental policies and reports to the Central Sterile Processing Supervisor.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Certification (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of CSP experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills preferred

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

Candidates must provide documentation and complete the following prior to or at onboarding:

  • Photo ID: Recent color photo (within 6 months), plain background, no filters or eyeglasses
  • License/Certificate Verification: Primary source verification of CSP certification or professional license, updated as required
  • Immunizations: Documentation of MMR vaccination or proof of immunity via blood test
  • TB Screening: Negative TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if there is a break longer than 6 months
  • Health Statement: Physician-signed health statement within 1 year of start date, updated if break exceeds 6 months
  • Criminal Background Check: Completed within 45 days prior to start, including county and international residence history for the past 7 years
  • Massachusetts CORI Check: State criminal history check within 30 days prior to start
  • Resume: Work experience for the past 7 years including city and state
  • References: Two references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher
  • Skills Checklist: Completed within 1 year of submission
  • Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for initial assignments and extensions, updated if start date changes
  • Education Verification: Verified highest level of education achieved
  • SSN Trace: Address and alias history for the past 7 years
  • National Sex Offender Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
  • Exclusion Checks: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually, including OIG, GSA, and state Medicaid exclusion lists

Additional optional documentation may be required if there are discrepancies in legal name or positive TB test results.
