Cardiac Cath Lab Technician
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (AM Shift)
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Two weekdays per week
- Every 3rd weekend on call (Friday 5:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM)
- Weekend call requires out-of-hospital response within 30 minutes of activation
Job Description
- Perform cardiac catheterization lab procedures including angioplasty and percutaneous interventions
- Experience with Impella and IntraAortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Familiarity with atherectomy devices/techniques (e.g., Rotablader)
- Skilled in temporary venous pacemaker and Swan Ganz catheter placement
- Scrubbing technique for procedures encouraged
- Work with fluoroscopy systems such as Philips, Siemens, and GE (experience with these systems is not required)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with angioplasty and percutaneous interventions
- Experience with Impella and IntraAortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Familiarity with atherectomy devices/techniques (e.g., Rotablader)
- Skilled in temporary venous pacemaker and Swan Ganz catheter placement
- Proficient in scrubbing technique for procedures
Certifications & Health Requirements (Must be current prior to start)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Proof of immunizations or immunity for:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination accepted)
- Tuberculosis (TB) test completed within 60 days prior to start (QuantiFERON/T-Spot or 2-step skin test)
- Annual Fit Test for N95 respirators or PAPR (3M N95 1860S, 1870+, or PAPR)
- Influenza vaccine recommended (required during flu season with possible exemptions)
- Physical/Health statement within 1 year
Professional & Compliance Requirements
- Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID (address must match profile)
- Criminal background check completed within 90 days prior to start, including 7-year county and national checks, SSN trace, and sex offender registry
- 9-panel drug screen completed within 60 days prior to start (marijuana removed from panel)
- Two professional references from a charge nurse or higher within the last 2 years
- Highest level of education verification (transcripts or third-party verification accepted)
- Recent color badge photo (taken within 6 months, no filters, solid background)
- Current skills checklist for the position completed within 12 months prior to start
- ECG exam completion certificate required prior to start
- Internal competency checklist to be completed within 2 weeks of start date
- Annual compliance training module completion certificate required
Additional Notes
- Resume submission is required
- Candidate’s legal name and address on all licenses must match government-issued ID
- Weekend call requires readiness to respond within 30 minutes outside the hospital
- No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
This position is ideal for a Cath Lab Technician with at least one year of experience, ARRT certification, and Ohio licensure, who is comfortable with a 4-day 10-hour shift schedule and weekend on-call rotation.
