Physical Therapist Assistant

Overview

• Location: Ridgecrest, California
• Employment type: Long-term assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Schedule: 5x8s, every other weekend required
• Setting: Inpatient and skilled nursing facility
• Patient population: Adult patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in California
• Physical Therapy Assistant (2 years of experience)
• Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Graduation from a nationally accredited school of physical therapy
• Experience in a(n) Inpatient setting
• Experience in a(n) Skilled Nursing setting
• Driver's License

Role Details

• Typically sees 7-8 patients per day
• About 45 minutes with each patient
• OT not expected
• May float to acute units if needed
• No call
• Orientation occurs every Monday
• RTO limited to 7 days maximum
• No block scheduling

Clinical/Work Environment

• Uses ventilators
• Drips/machine experience required
• Ratios may be 1-2 patients, sometimes 3
