Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the scope of practice on the Telemetry Unit. The RN will guide patient/family teaching and oversee activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse is accountable for assigned patients and must communicate with physicians regarding changes in clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic results, and symptomatology. The RN must respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.

Contract Length

• 52 weeks (approximately 1 year)

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN License
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• ACLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination and boosters preferred

Required Credentials and Compliance

• COVID-19 Vaccine: 2 doses plus booster or completed declination
• MMR Immunity: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer
• Annual Respirator Fit Test (must be completed prior to start if not available onsite)
• Hepatitis B vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
• Influenza Vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
• TB Test within one year of start date
• Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
• Varicella Immunity: Vaccination or titer required
• Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
• Physical/Health Statement within the year of start date
• National Criminal Background Check within one year of start date
• Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9)
• Drug Screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC saliva test (California locations)
• Completion of required training and exams including:
