Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Pikeville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week (no 36-hour weeks accepted)
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required unless approved time off

Job Details

• Float between Medical Surgical and Telemetry units; may assist as an aide on other inpatient units as needed
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Patient ratio approximately 1:6
• Unit size varies between 15-45 beds
• Facility is a 340-bed Level II Trauma Center

Required Qualifications

• Current Kentucky or Compact RN License
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty
• Must have Level I or Level II Trauma experience
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• EKG test required during compliance process
• Charting experience preferred with Care View or EPIC (training provided on-site)
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips

• COVID-19 vaccine required unless a medical or religious exemption is approved; if exempt, weekly testing at traveler’s expense is required
• 75-mile radius travel rule applies
• Guaranteed hours may not apply during orientation week or holidays when the unit is closed
