Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health

Job Overview

• Work primarily on an inpatient behavioral health unit with 11 beds (max capacity 8).
• Patient ratio typically 1 RN to 5-6 patients when unit is full.
• Primary responsibilities include medication passing, patient cares, documentation, and milieu management.
• Shift schedule includes a mix of 8-hour and 12-hour variable shifts, with typical shift example from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Weekend rotation every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
• May float to other nearby campuses or units (Tomahawk, Eagle River, Howard Young).
• Scrub color is flexible (any color allowed).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly; overtime after 80 hours worked in the second week.
• Contract includes eligibility for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours.
• During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times per facility policy; non-compliance may result in corrective action.
• GSA (geographic differential) does not apply during orientation week.
