Travel Registered Nurse – ICU

Location: Portage, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with ICU specialty to provide care in a medical-surgical ICU setting. The unit includes 11 beds dedicated to COVID patients alongside general medical and surgical patients such as joint replacements.

Work Schedule & Requirements

Shift: 12-hour variable shifts
Weekend/Holiday: 2 weekends out of 4 as needed (Fri/Sat for nights, Sat/Sun for days), holiday rotation included
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (not applicable during orientation week)
Float: Must be willing to float to nearby facilities (Aspirus Stevens Point, Plover, Riverview)
On Call: No mandatory on-call or call-back; additional shifts may be available for sick calls
Time Off: Will not accommodate more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO)
Observed Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day

Bed Size: 11 beds for COVID patients plus other medical-surgical beds
Patient Mix: Medical and surgical patients including joint replacements and general surgery
Patient Ratio: Not specified

Required Qualifications

License: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience plus Med/Surg experience
Prior Travel Experience: Travel experience required
Skills: Competent in ICU and Med/Surg nursing
Additional: Must be a hard worker, resilient, adaptable to change, assertive, confident in skills, and a team player

Additional Notes

Radius Rule: Must live outside 50 miles from the facility
Flu/COVID Vaccination: Required during flu season; unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times per policy
Scrub Color: Dark blue

This position is ideal for experienced ICU nurses with Med/Surg background who have prior travel nursing experience and are flexible with floating and weekend/holiday shifts.
