Radiation Therapist - Travel Contract

Location: Vacaville, California

Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

Radiation Therapists administer therapeutic doses of radiation using ionizing-radiation producing equipment as prescribed by physicians, primarily for cancer treatment. Responsibilities include:

• Exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed radiation doses
• Maintaining detailed records of therapy sessions, including treatment area, dosage, equipment settings, patient reactions, and cumulative radiation received
• Operating radiation generating equipment safely and accurately
• Completing simulation/localization procedures as assigned
• Scheduling treatment and simulation appointments
• Participating in Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) duties
• Fabricating immobilization and treatment devices as needed
• Reporting equipment malfunctions and patient status to medical staff
• Observing radiation safety measures according to California regulations and departmental policies
• Maintaining a professional and supportive attitude toward staff, patients, and families

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy
• Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program
• Current State of California license in Radiation Therapy Technology (CRT-Therapy)

• Works under general supervision with some latitude for independent judgment
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
