Job Opportunity: PET CT Technologist
Location: Jersey City, New Jersey
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform PET/CT imaging procedures with a focus on patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction.
- Use technical skills to interpret physician orders and select appropriate imaging parameters to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Work in various environments including outpatient centers, mobile units, and hospital-based facilities.
- Ensure patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and adherence to radiation safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Train new technologists and troubleshoot imaging equipment and peripheral devices.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of PET CT experience.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Dual certification as a PET/CT technologist required:
- ARRT (CT) and ARRT (N) certifications OR
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification as an alternative.
- Valid New Jersey state licenses for both CT Technologist and Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Additional Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are typically expected (implied by standard practice, confirm during application).
