Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Unit Details
- Cardiac Cath Lab with 2 suites
- Typical volume: 4–14 cases per day
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1
- Charge nurse role included, with no patients
- No nurse aides
- No floating
- Call required twice a month, including weekends
- Holidays rotate with permanent staff
Clinical Responsibilities
- Sedation monitoring
- Conscious sedation testing as part of protocol
- Nurses start their own IVs
Patient Population
- STEMI
- TAVR/TAVERS
- Interventional and diagnostic caths
- EVAR
- Cardio MAMs
- No IR cases
- Implants
Additional Notes
- Scrub color is provided by the hospital
- Cardiologist in house
- RT and Pharmacy available 24/7
- Business-hour shifts with call coverage
- Orientation depends on experience and whether the clinician is a nurse or tech
