Location

• Turtle Lake, North Dakota

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Nights
• 12-hour shifts: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM and 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• Every other weekend
• Alternating holidays, usually every other holiday
• Team scheduling; block scheduling may be requested

Unit Details

• ER / MedSurg / Swing Bed unit
• Critical access rural facility
• 25 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:8
• Charge nurse on each shift
• Nurse aides/CNAs on each shift
• First to float; may float to ER / MedSurg support

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• 2 years of experience
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must be able to titrate drips

Clinical Experience / Skills

• Dementia care
• Stroke care
• Skin care for geriatric patients
• Geriatric patient care
• Understanding of dependent older adults
• Experience with rehab/restorative care after acute illness
• Experience with IV medication, fluid and blood administration
• Experience with wounds
• Experience with initial trauma care in the ER
• Experience with exacerbation of chronic illnesses
• Experience with general rehab post-surgery

Additional Details

• EPIC used for documentation
• Patient-managed CPAP only
• Scrubs required; no specific color
• 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation
• No call or standby requirement
• RTO must be provided upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
