Job Opportunity: Social Worker

Location: Prescott, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Social Work
  • Work Settings: Inpatient, Emergency Department, Family Birthing Center, ICU
  • Typical Caseload: 12-16 patients per day (varies)
  • EMR System: Cerner
  • Shifts & Schedule:
    • Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (inpatient)
    • Emergency Department shift: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
    • Guaranteed 40 hours per week
    • Weekend shifts approximately every 3-4 weeks (if at all)
    • No holiday requirement
  • Dress Code: Business casual

Responsibilities

  • Complete social work assessments, including mental health assessments
  • Manage Title 36 petitions as needed
  • Discharge planning as needed
  • Address homelessness, substance abuse, and social determinants of health (SDOH) consultations
  • Maternal and child assessments
  • Reporting to Department of Child Safety (DCS) and Adult Protective Services (APS) as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification not required

Additional Information

  • Orientation: 1-2 week onboarding with Social Work Manager
  • Candidates must not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any related facilities within the past year within a 50-mile radius
  • Pharmacy involvement for discharge planning varies

Traveler friendly, good ratios, great scheduling, decent providers, Uses tiger text to communicate with most doctors. Plenty of hiking activities. Close to Sedona, Flagstaff and Phoenix. 5:1 Med/tele and 3:1 PCU.

Cons

Cost of living is High, roughly $2000-2500 for your own private space. Float between East and West Campus, 25 minutes apart, west will likely be where you spend 75% of your shifts so pick your housing accordingly.
