ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• 13-week travel ICU RN assignment in Arizona
• Start date: ASAP
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36-hour weekly guarantee
• 12-bed unit
• Ratios typically 1:2

Required Qualifications

• Active Arizona or compact RN license
• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS
• 2 years of experience in ICU
• Experience with basic ICU equipment

Schedule

• Modified self-scheduling with ability to block schedule as much as possible
• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule minimum

Clinical Details

• May float to ED or medical-surgical if experienced
• Common cases include pneumonia, ventilated patients, post-cath patients, EVAR, surgeries, ETOH/OD, ARDS, DKA, CVA after tPA, afib RVR, sepsis, and renal failure
• Common drips include amiodarone, Cardizem, Levophed, Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Vecuronium, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin, Heparin, and norepinephrine
• No open-heart or neuro surgery
• No fresh transplants
• Ventilator volume varies monthly, typically 1-2 at all times

Unit Support

• Respiratory therapist available 24/7
• Patient care technician and health unit secretary on unit
• House supervisor in house 24/7
