• 36 hours per week
• Cyclic scheduling
• Shifts: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Stepdown RN
• 22 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
• Charge nurse takes a full patient assignment
• Nurse aides/patient care techs: 1:10
• Common diagnoses: heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, stroke
• RNs must read and interpret strips
• RNs are required to titrate drips
• Common titratable/set-rate drips: Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro
• RT equipment on unit includes CPAP
• Floating: may float to ICU if appropriate and experienced

Required Qualifications

• RN
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
• RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• Candidates must be outside the 50-mile radius

• Fast-paced unit with many admits and discharges
• One 12-hour shift of unit-specific orientation
• Prescreen and auto offer
