Overview

• Night shift
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours guaranteed
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Location: Kearney, Nebraska

Required Qualifications

• RN
• 2 years of unit experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Competent in Arterial Lines
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Must read and interpret tele strips
• Driver’s license required at submittal

Unit Details

• Department: PCU
• 40 beds
• Average daily census: 24
• Typical patient population includes adults with cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, and renal failure
• Ratios: 1:4-5 on days and nights
• Charge nurse on each shift
• Nurse aides/patient care techs on unit, ratio 1:12
• High flow equipment on unit
• Floating: MedSurg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients

Schedule

• Shifts: 0630-1830 and 1830-0630
• Every other weekend
• Minimum of 2 holidays during the contract
• 1 day of unit/department orientation

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
• RTO must be submitted upfront; up to 7 days total for the 13-week contract
• Additional RTO will not be approved
• Must be flexible, adaptable, and have good communication skills
