Occupational Therapist - Boise, Idaho

Job Details

  • Specialty: Occupational Therapy (Acute Inpatient)
  • Location: Boise, Idaho
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Work Setting: Acute inpatient care on medical floors (ICU not mandatory), PACU, ED
  • Patient Load: 8-10 patients treated per day
  • Team Size: 8-12 therapists working per day
  • Shifts: Four 10-hour days per week (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
  • Schedule: 8-week rotating schedule, attempts made to accommodate requests, no self-scheduling
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other full weekend or one weekend day per week
  • Holiday Requirements: None
  • Dress Code: Any color scrubs or business casual accepted

Certifications & Licensure

  • BLS Certification required
  • State licensure required for Occupational Therapists

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • First-time travelers are acceptable (prior travel experience NOT required)

Patient Population / Common Diagnoses

  • Neurologic: CVA, MS, Parkinson’s, Guillain-Barre, cranial and spinal surgeries (TBI patients typically not seen)
  • General medical and orthopedic: total joints, fractures
  • Cardiac: pacemakers, CABG, valve replacements
  • Oncology (no transplant patients)

Additional Information

  • EMR system: EPIC
  • Orientation: 3-5 days including system orientation, documentation training, and hospital/department orientation
  • Floating: Occasional floating to other nearby hospitals within a 20-mile radius; infrequent
  • Rehab Aides staffed, no COTAs
  • Supervisor/Manager available on each shift; weekend on-call supervisor present
