Experience Requirements

• Must be able to circulate a wide variety of cases including:

  • General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular (bowel resections, laparoscopic, daVinci Xi, c-sections, bariatrics)
  • Orthopedics (total joints with or without MAKO robot, arthroscopy, ortho trauma)
  • Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics (trach, ENT procedures, plastics, spine fusions, crani, facial fractures, laryngoscopy/bronchoscopy, neck dissections)
• Specialized in these 4 groupings:

  • Ortho
  • Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics
  • Cardiovascular-Thoracic (CV-T) including Peripheral Vascular coverage
  • General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular
• Scrubbing not required for RNs (circulating role)

Shift Details

• Primarily day shifts: 07:00-15:30, 07:00-17:30, or 07:00-19:30
• One week of PM shifts (15:00-23:30) approximately every 5 weeks
• Night shifts (23:00-07:00) possible with prior experience at this facility
• Shift options: 8-hour or 10-hour shifts; 12-hour shifts may be available on subsequent contracts depending on staffing
• Weekend call: approximately 1 weekend every 5-6 weeks
• Night call: 1-2 nights per week (end of shift to 07:00)
• Holiday call: at least 1 holiday per year
• Call response times:

  • Call team 1: 30 minutes
  • Call teams 2-4: 45 minutes

Work Environment & Additional Info

• 16 OR suites, averaging 28 cases per day
• Always staffed 24/7/365 with minimum one RN and one surgical tech
• Floating required to Outpatient Surgery Center across campus
• EMR system: Cerner
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs provided at no cost
• Orientation: 2-3 days with educator plus 1-2 weeks of case-specific training
• Clock in/out required at facility
