Job Opportunity: Med/Tele - K5 Nurse

Location: Lufkin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Unit Type: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 24
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Patient Care Techs (PCTs) Ratio: 12:1
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Diabetes, Pneumonia (PNA), Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Medical/Surgical Telemetry patients
• Respiratory Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow oxygen therapy

Shift & Scheduling

• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
• Scheduling: Managed by supervisor; block scheduling not guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
• Holiday Requirement: Holidays required
• Floating: Will float to all medical/surgical units

Skills & Requirements

• Required Certifications: BLS Certification
• Experience: Great communication and time management skills required
• Specialty Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum experience typical for Med/Tele roles (recommend verifying with recruiter)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required
• RN Responsibilities: Must be able to read telemetry strips (tele monitor techs monitor patients, but RNs interpret strips)
